Jaime Bird is a mixed media artist specializing in highly imaginative spectacles and installations, which showcase an attention to detail and an understanding of audience interactions. These works use common cultural backdrops to form a picture of human behavior, often though the use of literary allusions, animal symbolism, references to historic theater, and personal mythologies. Many of her narratives include reference to her families ancestral past as Yankee whalers in colonial New England.

Jaime received her Bachelor in Fine Arts in 2009 from the University of Washington. She was the exhibit educator intern for the Florida Aquarium after moving to Tampa. In 2013, she earned her Master of Fine Arts at the University of South Florida. After graduating, she participated in residencies at the Arctic Circle, Banff Centre, Atlantic Center for the Arts, and Mass MoCa. Jaime currently works and lives in New Orleans, Louisiana where she is a Prop Master for theatrical productions and a Production Manager for live concerts.She maintains an art studio at the Aquarium Gallery & Studios.
